The ERROR_VC_DISCONNECTED 240 (0xF0) error with the error message “” appears when there is a problem with the Virtual Channel session on a remote desktop or virtual environment such as Remote Desktop Protocol or VMware, Hyper-V, etc. This indicates that the connection was closed or interrupted unexpectedly.

First, make sure that the client and server devices are on the same network or connected correctly via VPN or remote access, then reboot them. How to fix ERROR_VC_DISCONNECTED issue?

1. Check your RDP settings
Tap Windows+ Ito open the Settings app .

Go to the System section , then click Remote Desktop .
